| | The Himachal Pradesh government is considering constitution of Tourism Development Councils (TDCs) for prominent tourist destinations of Kufri Naldehra, Dharamshala Mcleodganj and Dalhousie/Khajjiar in association with local representatives. According to a UNI report, during a meeting of the Tourism Development Board yesterday in Shimla, Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, said this initiative is to give new dimension to tourism promotional activities as part of the 20 Year Perspective Tourism Master Plan envisioned for Sustainable Tourism development of the state.
Dhumal said that the Master Plan will be ready with short-term, mid-term and long term measures to be adopted to promote sustainable, environment friendly, socially acceptable, broadly employment generating tourism in the state and identify new destinations to divert tourist traffic out of existing spots.
