Homestays to be special focus at KTM 2010

Kerala's bi-annual travel mart, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) 2010 will be held at Bolgatty Palace in Kochi from September 23-26, 2010. The sixth edition of KTM has already witnessed close to 150 registrations from international buyers and 450 domestic buyers, while the KTM committee is targeting additional 400 international buyers. The registration for sellers will begin from May 2010. During the Mart, the state will lay special emphasis on home stays as a unique accommodation option that travellers can explore.

The KTM committee is also targeting participation of buyers from new source markets like Scandinavia, Middle East, Russia etc. enabling new buyers to interact with the sellers. It is also looking at increasing the membership base of KTM by allowing new entrepreneurs to join the society.

Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Jose Mathew, Treasurer and Sellers Committee Chairman, Kerala Travel Mart Society said, “For all these years, the travel mart was held at Le Meridien in Kochi, however this year the committee has chosen a different venue this year as we are expecting a sharp increase in the number of exhibitors this year.
