Hotel owners in Haryana in process of constructing 6,000 rooms for CWG 2010

According to a PTI report, Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Tourism recently informed that as many as 6,000 rooms are being constructed by various hotel owners in Haryana, which will be completed within the stipulated time before the Common Wealth Games (CWG) 2010.

She added that Delhi, tourists will be accommodated in NCR areas which will in turn benefit Haryana. Special efforts were being made to promote tourism in Ambala. Holistic schemes will be prepared after exploring tourism potentials in Panchkula, Yamunnagar and Ambala.

The taxi drivers will be imparted behavioural training. The Road Tax charged by various states will also be collected at one point, so that tourists might not face any hassles, while going from one state to another, the collected Road Tax will be distributed among the states later on. She said that the Common Wealth Games 2010 were expected to lift the country's tourism industry in a big way.
