HP to organise Tourism Conclave and Shimla Mega Mart from June 12-15, 2009

The Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Himachal Pradesh in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise a Tourism Conclave and Shimla Mega Mart under the theme ‘Unforgettable Himachal: Opportunities Unlimited’ from 12th to 15th of this month. The Conclave will be held on June 12 and 13 at Hotel Peterhoff, Shimla and Shimla Mega Mart from June 12-15 at the Ridge. This information was divulged by Manisha Nanda, Secretary Tourism, Himachal Pradesh who presided over a meeting held yesterday in Shimla. The aim is to bring all stakeholders, Tourism Department of HP, tourists, industry leaders, travel writers and state and foreign tourism boards on one platform. Eminent personalities are expected to participate in the conclave to address different sessions.

The purpose of the conclave is highlight tourism potential and investment opportunities in Himachal Pradesh with an aim to place the state more prominently on the world tourism map. The sessions during the conclave will be on infrastructure needs of the state, new tourism trends with special focus on strategy for developing Health Tourism,
