Haryana Travel Mart (HTM), an umbrella organisation for the promotion of Haryana as a tourism destination, along with Haryana Tourism, and Real Estate Development Council (REDCO) of Gurgaon, will organise a month-long shopping carnival at Gurgaon in October 2010, coinciding with the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
According to Mahesh Behl, Chief Coordinator, Haryana Travel Mart, the travel component of the month-long festivities will begin with the three-day travel mart on September 27, 2010. “We plan to commence the festivities on World Tourism Day (September 27), and end with Haryana Day on November 1, 2010. Last year, we did a two-day travel fair at Ambience Mall Gurgaon, but this year we are planning for a three-day travel mart, from September 27 to 29,” added Behl. HTM is in the process of engaging a professional event organiser to conduct both, the travel mart and shopping carnival.
The organisers are also planning to add various new components to make the month-long shopping carnival attractive. |
