HTM’s Tourism Fair postponed to December 19-20, 2009 due to state Assembly elections next month

Haryana Travel Mart’s (HTM) Tourism Fair which was to be held on the 26th and 27th of this month in Gurgaon has been postponed to December 19-20, 2009 due to the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections which will be held next month. The elections code of conduct will soon come into force.

Confirming the postponement, Sanjay Sharma, Official Exhibition Co-ordinator, HTM informed that the Tourism Fair had to be postponed as key officials of Haryana Tourism cannot attend it because of the election code of conduct. “It is basically a programme of the Haryana Tourism and it makes no sense if important people like the Minister, Secretary, Directors, etc. cannot attend the event,” opined Sharma.

Subash Goyal, Chairman, HTM said, “The Tourism Fair is a networking platform.  We fear that people will loose the networking opportunity mainly because of the state elections.”
