| | In a recent development on the zero commission issue, IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) has filed a contempt of court case on February 8, 2010 under reference of Kerala High Court no: 186/2010, against Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA); Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and 16 zero commission airlines. The case has been filed for their lapse in following the directive issued by the Kerala High Court on July 13, 2009 regarding zero commission issue. This decision was taken by the Association during a recently held national management committee meeting in New Delhi. This information was divulged by Biji Eapen, President, IAAI.
As per the order issued by the Kerala High Court of Kerala, DGCA and MoCA were directed to restore commission for travel agents from the 16 airlines following zero commission regime, according to national law. As a result, DGCA had conducted series of meetings with representatives of MoCA, travel trade association (TAAI, IAAI and TAFI) and all 16 zero commission airlines. The main objective of these meetings was to solve the issue and offer commissions to agents. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story). New User?
