IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) has decided to start an email operation against all airlines working on the zero commission model. This decision was taken at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IAAI held at Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary in Ernakulam, Kerala yesterday. IAAI has decided to send one lakh e-mails to the Prime Minister of Singapore on April 1, 2009. The content of the e-mails would be regarding the restoration of the commission system. According to Biji Eapen, President, IAAI, the association has planned to send 5,000 e-mails everyday, from April 1, under ‘Operation E-mail’ initiative, to officials connected with all the 13 airlines working on zero commissions. This practice will be continued till airlines win the race against zero commissions.
The dais at the AGM was shared by members of IAAI: Biji Eapen, President; Naresh Rajkotia, General Secretary and D L Jagnathan, Treasurer. The two-day AGM was followed by a jungle safari on the second day at Bhoothathankettu near the venue of the AGM. |
