The Indian Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) is setting stage for the forthcoming marketing event – 'Conventions India – the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Events Conclave'. The event will be held on May 1-2, 2009 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Hyderabad. The Bureau till now has registered about 14 international buyers (20 expected), about 100 buyers from India (excluding Hyderabad) and 60 local buyers. The Bureau has received confirmed registration from about 70-80 exhibitors for booths at the event. This is the fifth Conclave by ICPB in India (last held in 2006 in New Delhi). The main purpose of ICPB is to propagate India's ability to hold all kinds of conventions and conferences. Additionally, ICPB is meant to be a catalyst to provide support to conference planners, organisations, associations and other trade bodies, during the bidding process for the international conferences, as well as to undertake marketing activities overseas.
