IHHR Hospitality to expand Ananda Spa in Jaipur by 2012

IHHR Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. is in the process of expanding its flagship spa brand Ananda Spa in Jaipur. The company which operates the world renowned destination spa, Ananda- in the Himalayas is presently developing a 75 villa property in Jaipur with an investment of Rs 120 crore. The facility is expected to be operational by 2012. The company also plans to create another destination spa under the Ananda brand in Orissa.

The spa brand, which is primarily targeted to the inbound traveller, saw a sharp drop in revenues last year (by 20 per cent) with the decline of inbound traffic due to the economic meltdown. Speaking about the same, Ashok Khanna, Managing Director, IHHR Hospitality said, “Earlier about 70 per cent of our guests were international travellers. In 2009, the guest profile changed drastically and the ratio of domestic to international travellers was almost equal. We expect the inbound traffic to revive by end 2010.”

Besides this, the company is also in the process of developing its business hotel brand Ista across the country. IHHR Hospitality will launch two properties in 2010 located in Ahmedabad with 185 rooms and
