IHM Pusa to organise ‘Skill Enrichment Programme’ for stakeholders of Connaught Place from November 9, 2009

Develops a ‘concept paper’ to convert Connaught Place as Sustainable Tourism destination

In order to develop Connaught Place in New Delhi as a Sustainable Tourism destination, a team consisting of faculty and students of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Pusa, New Delhi will organise ‘skill enrichment’ programme for stakeholders of Connaught Place from November 9, 2009. It is planning to hold two skill enrichment programmes for three days in a week with a batch of 30 people.
 
The programme is planned with the assistance of New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) who will be providing space and the Traders’ association of the area. The skill enrichment programme is aimed at grooming and imparting basic tourist-friendly etiquettes, guest-handling, as well as aspects related to safety and security of tourists, etc. to the stakeholders, including shop owners and their staff, municipal corporation staff of the area, traffic police, etc. IHM Pusa recently also developed and submitted a ‘concept paper’ on developing Connaught Place into a Sustainable Tourism destination to the Ministry of Tourism (MoT).
