India International Travel Expo (IITE), a company backed by Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) is slated to arrange a host of events for this year as well as the next year. For this year, IITE is planning to organise six to eight roadshows across various parts of India. To manage and organise these events, IITE will soon appoint an international event-cum-exhibition organising company and sign a contract with them. Speaking exclusively with TravelBiz Monitor, Iqbal Mulla, Chairman, IITE said, “The agreement to be made with the event organising company is slated for next month and once done, we will start with the roadshows.” The roadshows will highlight tourism and bring members to a common platform wherein unique ideas can be brought up which will help to enhance their business models.
Furthermore, IITE is also holding dialogue with Ministry of Tourism (MoT) to offer their support in organising the roadshows across India. Plans are also afoot to organise the biggest travel exhibition in February 2010. |
