At a recently held press conference at the Macau Tower, Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) unveiled its marketing strategies for the year 2009. Making a presentation at the conference, Joao Manuel Costa Antunes, Director, Macau Government Tourist Office said that tourism products and source market diversification are the main objects of MGTO for this year. Other strategies will include developing a diversified product and positioning Macau as a multi-faceted tourism destination. India features in Macau’s list of priority markets along with other regions like Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan); North East Asia (Japan, Korea); South East Asia (Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia) and long haul markets (Australia/New Zealand, USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Portugal).
Speaking on the sidelines of the Interim Marketing Meet, Antunes said that apart from Leisure Tourism, MGTO will promote Business Tourism on a large scale through thematic tour packages, increasing student awareness by promoting world heritage of Macau, large scale media promotions, FAM trips for media, trade and industry throughout the year. |
