In a bid to promote tourism, art and culture of Maharashtra, India Tourism, Mumbai, in association with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is organising a month-long promotion, ‘Explore the Incredible Maharashtra,’ starting today. Every Friday artisans making different artefacts will put up their stalls in the Mumbai office of India Tourism.
Elaborating on the promotion at the inauguration function in India Tourism office in Mumbai this morning, Sujata Thakur, Regional Director, India Tourism, Mumbai (Western Region) said, “This is a first-of-its-kind event in Western and Central region of India that will augment the awareness of domestic and international tourists regarding the culture and traditions of Maharashtra. From October 2009 onwards, every month India Tourism, Mumbai will organise more programmes of this nature to promote other states like Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, falling under the jurisdiction of the Western and Central region.”
