Indian scheduled airlines carry 40.87 lakh domestic passengers in January 2010

According to a PIB release, the total domestic passengers carried by Indian scheduled airlines in the month of January 2010 was 40.87 lakh. The total passengers carried by domestic airlines in the month of December 2009 was 44.87 lakh. The break-up for the month of January 2010 is as follows:

Air India (Domestic) – 7.34 lakh, Jet Airways – 7.51 lakh, JetLite – 2.77 lakh, Kingfisher Airlines– 9.08 lakh, SpiceJet – 5.00 lakh, Paramount Airways – 0.72 lakh, GoAir – 2.20 lakh, IndiGo – 6.25 lakh.

The percentage share of carriers in the month of January 2010 was:

Air India (Domestic) 18.0 per cent, Jet Airways – 18.4 per cent, JetLite – 6.8 per cent, Kingfisher Airlines–22.2 per cent, SpiceJet – 12.2 per cent, Paramount Airways– 1.8 per cent, GoAir – 5.4 per cent and IndiGo – 15.3 per cent.

The seat factors of domestic airlines in the month of January 2010 was:

Air India (Domestic) – 73.6 per cent, Jet Airways – 73.7 per cent, JetLite – 74.9 per cent, Kingfisher Airlines – 76.4 per cent, SpiceJet – 82.1 per cent, Paramount Airways – 87.8 per cent, GoAir – 77.1 per cent and IndiGo – 83.2 per cent.
