| | The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced package tours aimed at different segments of tourists, with now two more trains connecting Digha to Kolkata. While packages have already been chalked out for Digha and Shankarpur, the one for Mandarmani will be announced later. IRCTC has also offered its services in booking hotels and making travel arrangements for tourists not interested in the complete packages. Interestingly Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee is not aware of the packages though. During the flagging-off ceremony of the Kandari Express last week, she announced that the packages will be announced in a month.
The budget three days/two nights package to Digha will cost Rs 750 for adults and Rs 300 for children below 12 years. The rates will go up by Rs 100 during weekends and holidays. This package will include train fares, hotel stay on twin-sharing basis and half a day's sightseeing by car. According to a report in Times of India, there is also a standard package on offer. The rate will be Rs 1,600 per adult for the same period of time. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story). New User? Register for FREE! |
