India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, under its new brand name Ashok Alliance, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six real estate developers across five states. The six new projects are: four-star Airport hotel in Kolkata by Shelter Projects; three-star hotel in Malout in Punjab by Silver Palm Hotel & Resort; five-star luxury hotel in Manesar by Manesar Developers; three-star hotel in Nagpur by Gupta Associates; three-star hotel in Jodhpur by Shakun Properties and three-star hotel in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan by Jagrit Infrastructure. ITDC had earlier signed similar agreements for a property in Chandigarh named Hotel Welcome City Beautiful and another in Surat called Riverfront Hotel.
The ‘Ashok Alliance’ scheme was launched earlier this year, with an intention to regain the ‘circuit advantage,’ which the Ashok brand of hotels enjoyed before disinvestment.
