The sixth edition of the Indian Travel Mission (ITM), an annual business forum for Indian travel agents and Australian tourism industry operators that concluded last week (September 26) in Chennai witnessed participation of 134 Indian buyers and 51 Australian sellers. The five-day event attracted 11 new sellers and 13 additional buyers compared to last year. The new sellers included both in-bound tour operators and individual product operators including AAT Kings, Australian Attraction, Mainstay Australia Hotels, Melbourne Cricket Ground, NRG Tourism, Puffing Billy Steam Railway, Southern Travelnet, Stamford Hotels and Resorts, Star City Hotel and Apartments, Sydney Surrounds and York Fairmont Resort.
Instated in 2003, the ITM forum aims to promote sustainable tourism for Australia and achieve continued growth in yield and arrivals from the growing Indian market. It is designed to assist and support Indian travel agents in their marketing of Australia by informing them about various Australian travel products and holiday experiences, offering itinerary suggestions, marketing material and business opportunities. |
