Kolkata-based Jet Setter Pvt. Ltd., a tour and Destination Management Company (DMC), recently launched a credit facility starting from Rs one lakh to Rs one crore for small and mid sized travel agents and tour operators on outbound packages. The credit facility named as 'Buy Now and Pay Later' will be offered for FIT, MICE and leisure tours. The aim is to offer good rates and packages to South East Asian countries, Egypt, London, Kenya and Italy, as well as Starwood Resorts and Hotels across the world.
Divulging details about the facility, Tarakeshwar Singh, Director, Jet Setters Pvt. Ltd. said, “Due to reducing agency commissions, many small and mid sized travel agents and tour operators are focusing on tour packages. Due to low volumes, they do not get best deals from the service providers like airlines, hotels, car rental companies, etc. Thus, we thought of introducing a credit facility on the lines of IATA's Ticket on Credit facility. We ask for a post dated cheque from the travel company who's buying a package from us.” |
