The Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) held a workshop for the travel trade today at ITC Hotel in Mumbai. The main aim of the workshop was to help travel trade design packages to Japan and attract more Indian tourists. Apart from JNTO, JTB Asia Tourist Corp (ATC), an inbound tour company, JAL (Japan Airlines Ltd.) and ANA (All Nippon Airways) were present at the workshop. JTB ATC offered tips for developing Japanese tourism packages to attract Indian tourists. Talking about it, Shoko Usui, Deputy General Manager – Sales & Marketing, JTB Asia Tourist Corp., said, “There are many innovative methods through which Indian travel trade can sell Japanese packages. They can sell packages to high end, mid-sized and budget conscious travellers. The most important criteria is to understand the requirements and likes of the traveller.”
Further in an attempt to significantly increase the number of international tourists visiting Japan, JNTO is considering to have a representation office in India by next year.
