With an aim to boost Free Individual Traveller (FIT) leisure traffic from India, the Jordanian government has eased Visa procedures by offering Visa-on-Arrival for individual travellers. As per the new rule, the Indian traveller will be provided with two week Entry Visa with 'not allowed to work in Jordan' stamp. This will not only improve the FIT leisure traffic but will also enhance religious traffic from India to Jordan.
Providing information on the same, Ashish Sharma, Marketing Consultant – India, Jordan Tourism Board said, “Earlier this year, the Jordanian government had eased Visa procedures by offering Visa-on-Arrival for Indian tourists travelling to Jordan in groups and through travel agents; along with Indian businessmen and investors living in non-restricted countries. However, individual travellers were not included in the decision. But with the recent decision of easing Visa procedures for FIT from India, Jordan is going to witness a rise in tourism figures.” Sharma added that due to global economic break down, most Indian travellers prefer travelling in groups. |
