To primarily focus on high end leisure, MICE, Religious Tourism segment

With an aim to increase its tourist arrivals from the Indian market, Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has decided to offer free Visa to Indians travelling in groups consisting of more than five persons. Indian travel trade contracting with Jordanian suppliers will be able to avail this facility. During end of 2009, the tourism board had relaxed its Visa practices for the Indian market, offering Visa on Arrival for the Indian FIT leisure travellers. The new initiative is also in line with the country’s initiative to attract Indians into Jordan.

Informing about the development, Maher Al Qaryouti, Director- Marketing, Asia, JTB stated, “The Visa relaxation has helped us in attracting Indians. We expect this new move to drive large number of groups into Jordan. We want to make the Indian travel trade aware about this initiative through our road shows conducted for the Indian market.” The tourism board recently concluded its seven city road show in India covering Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru, Goa and Mumbai.
