Jordon Tourism Board (JTB), which set up its representative office in India three months ago, is looking at positioning Jordon as a leisure and MICE destination among Indian travellers. For the leisure market, the destination is targeting high-end leisure and religious travelers, especially from South India. It is promoting destinations like Petra, Dead Sea which offer wellness and spa treatments, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and Ammam. The country has also eased visa procedures by offering Visa-on-Arrival for a group of more than five people and a turn around time of one week for availing visa for less than five people at the embassy in New Delhi. The relaxed visa procedure is expected to enhance tourists’ traffic from India to Jordon.
