KBJ Group enters hospitality with Absolute Hotel Services

Mumbai-based jewellery firm KBJ Group has diversified into the hospitality sector in association with Thailand-based hotel management chain Absolute Hotel Services. KBJ Group plans to establish its footprint in the industry through two modes: hotel development and management contracts. In the first mode, KBJ Group will develop ten hotels across India, which will be managed by Absolute Hotel Services. It will invest USD 100 million for this development. The Indian firm has also developed a management company with the Thai hotel chain called Absolute KBJ Hotel Services India. Plans are in the pipeline to manage 20 properties across the country through this route.

Mohit Kamboj, Managing Director, KBJ Group stated, “There is immense potential in the Buddhist tourist circuit of India, which is highly untapped. There is huge requirement of quality hotel rooms in these locations with a significant inflow of tourists from South East Asia. We want to create our first set of room inventory in these locations.”
