Kerala High Court orders MoCA and DGCA to ensure commission structure for travel agents

As per the writ petition filed by IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) against zero commission airlines, the High Court of Kerala today ordered the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) (Respondent 2) and Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) (Respondent 1) to ensure that Rule 135 (Tariff) of the Aircraft Act 1937 be implemented both in letter and spirit on all the zero commission airlines to ensure commission for Indian travel agents from 16 foreign airlines following zero commission regime with immediate effect. These airlines are Air Canada, Air France, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Finnair, Japan Airlines, KLM – Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa German Airlines (LH), Northwest Airlines, Qatar Airways, Silk Air, Singapore Airlines (SQ), Swiss International and United Airlines. The implementation of Rule 135 is also for all other airlines operating in India. This information was divulged by Biji Eapen, President, IAAI.
