Kingfisher Airlines, after expanding its international operations to London and Colombo, is now looking at operating in South East Asian countries in the next three to four months. Apart from expanding its foot print in the South East Asian countries, the airline is also keen on expanding operations to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia this year. Elaborating on the expansion plans, Siva Ramachandran, Vice President- Global Sales, Kingfisher Airlines Ltd said, “We are looking at starting our services to countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Bangladesh (Dhaka), United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Maldives by May this year. Apart from expanding our route network to these countries we are also keen on extending our services to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia this year.”
The airline has received the approval of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to operate on international routes last year and started off with Bangalore – London flight in September 2008. On fifth of this month, the airline started operations on the Mumbai – London route. |
