Kingfisher Airlines slashes air fares between 21 to 65 per cent effective January 1, 2009

IndiGo Airlines offers Rs one – Rs 99 base fare across most sectors

According to a PTI report, Kingfisher Airlines announced yesterday in Bangalore that it has slashed its air fares between 21 per cent and 65 per cent on various routes across its network effective January 1, 2009. According to a press statement released by Kingfisher Airlines, this move is consistent with Kingfisher Airlines' mission to aggressively pursue an increase in market share and deliver five-star experiences at highly competitive fares. The airline will also offer significant discounts to its traditional corporate customer base. Its frequent flyer programme, King Club will now offer incentives and rewards including free overseas travel on its international routes launched recently. “The declining prices of ATF facilitate such initiatives benefiting the customers which will also stimulate the industry,” stated Vijay Mallya, CEO and Chairman, Kingfisher Airlines. He further added that they will also aggressively pursue sales and market share, which will help sustain increased load factors between February and April.

Meanwhile, IndiGo Airlines is offering Rs one-Rs 99 base fares across most sectors effective yesterday.
