Kingfisher to begin Mumbai-Nanded-Latur service from Oct 6

Kingfisher Airlines will start operating the first-ever major commercial flight to the pilgrim city of Nanded from October 6, 2008. The inaugural flight will take off on today from Mumbai in the presence of Sharad Pawar, Agriculture minister, Praful Patel, Civil aviation minister and Vilasrao Deshmukh, Maharashtra Chief Minister.

The flight (Kingfisher IT 2145) will take off from Mumbai thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and extend to another Marathwada city, Latur. The flight will start from Mumbai at 6 am and arrive in Nanded at 7.20 am. It will take off for Latur after 30 minutes and touch down in half an hour. There will be no stop-over in Nanded during return journey. The flight will proceed for Mumbai at 8.45 am and land at 10.10 am. Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Union Aviation Minister Praful Patel will declare open the ultra modern airports in both cities. Apart from being able to land A320 and Boeing-737 craft, the airports have night landing facility, plush passenger terminals and fuelling stations.
