| | In order to increase tourist arrivals to the state, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) is focusing on promoting Heritage and Wellness Tourism in the international markets this year. In the Heritage Tourism segment, it’s looking at promoting the world heritage sites of Hampi and Pattadakal along with sites like Badami and Bijapur. For Wellness Tourism, the destination plans to promote destinations in and around Bangalore. Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Vinay Luthra, Managing Director, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) said, “This year our focus for the international market is primarily Heritage and Wellness Tourism. The Great Indian Travel Bazaar which is taking place in Jaipur from April 19-21, 2009 is an ideal platform to interact and promote Karnataka among international buyers. Apart from Heritage and Wellness Tourism, we are also going to promote our luxury train Golden Chariot aggressively.”
