KTDC to launch 'Visit Kerala Year 2009' package next month

A single window system to be implemented for projects

Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) will implement a year-long umbrella package called ‘Visit Kerala Year 2009’ from next month. According to a PTI report, this was disclosed by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Home and Tourism Minister, Kerala while he was addressing the meeting of Non-Resident Keralities (NRK) called ‘Inte Naadu’ in Kochi day before yesterday. NRKs from 42 countries participated in the meeting. Balakrishnan informed that the ‘Visit Kerala Year 2009’ package aimed at wooing more domestic tourists to the state will be focused on Tier-II cities. Apart from this sixty projects, which had the potential to attract investments to the tune of about Rs 1,000 crore were showcased for the consideration of NRKs at the meeting. To ensure speedy implementation of the various projects, a single window system will be implemented. Balakrishnan informed that M. Shivashankar, Tourism Director, Kerala has been appointed as the ‘Nodal Officer.’
