Lufthansa Group consisting of three operating airlines- Lufthansa German Airlines, Swiss International Airlines and Austrian Airlines has set a target to operate daily flights on all its sectors from India by end of 2011. Through the three airlines, the Group currently operates in cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata. In the next summer schedule, it aims to increase frequencies of Lufthansa Airlines from Pune from four to five flights per week. It is further considering opportunities to increase services from three to four flights per week from Kolkata and Hyderabad for the summer schedule.
Informing TravelBiz Monitor about the same on the sidelines of the press conference held yesterday to announce the launch of direct flights from Vienna to Mumbai, Axel Hilgers, Director- South Asia, Lufthansa stated, “Our target for 2011 is to resume our daily flights for all destinations in India.
