Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd (MHRIL) has plans to set up their own hospitality training centre in the future to meet the demand for skilled manpower in the hospitality segment. Hospitality education and training is one such area, which the company intends to venture using the funds raised through the Initial Public Offering (IPO). MHRIL announced the launch of its IPO recently to fund their future expansions. The issue will open on June 23, 2009 and will close on June 26, 2009.
According to Ramesh Ramanathan, Managing Director, MHRIL, the company has already identified a site in Puducherry to develop a manpower training centre. He said, “There is an acute shortage of trained manpower matching to the Club Mahindra culture. We hope that we will be able to produce manpower with right orientation by establishing our own hospitality institute.” He further informed, “The company will expand ‘Svaastha Spa’ operation by adding more group properties. So far, we have Svaastha in four resorts; Goa, Ashtamudi, Kumbalgarh and Shimla. Slowly, there are plans to expand to all our resorts.” |
