Aiming to increase the sales of non-air products which have high demand in the market, Delhi-based Makemytrip.com is soon going to introduce online car rentals and airport transfer services in India. Despite the current challenges faced by the global and Indian travel industry, the company achieved a turnover of Rs 1,500 crore in the current fiscal (April 2009 – November 2009).
Revealing future plans of the travel company, Deep Kalra, Co-Founder and CEO, Makemytrip.com said, “In the current financial year, we are focusing on increasing our margins from the existing portfolio of products and are looking at increasing revenues from the non-air segment. The focus area will be to drive bundled and accommodation products online, as well as increase contribution from retail channel.” Kalra added, “We are looking at launching online car rentals and airport transfers soon.
