| | Vision 2020 for Agri-Tourism in India was unveiled by Maharashtra State Agri & Rural Tourism Co-operation Federation (MART) at the national convention on Agri-Tourism: ‘The Way to Rural Development’ orgainsed by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in New Delhi yesterday. Speaking at the convention, Pandurang Taware, Managing Director, MART said that Agri-Tourism is the need of the hour. “Survival for farmers is difficult today unless they get supporting income through initiatives like Agri-Tourism. One of the main objectives of Agri-Tourism is to sell farm products made by the farmers. Taware, in his speech revealed Vision 2020 for Agri-Tourism. Main points of Vision 2020 are as follows: 1) Government should have a separate policy for Agri-Tourism. Financial institutions like public and private sector banks should support farmers by lending money to invest for farming.
