The MayFair Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd, which currently has properties across Bhubaneshwar, Puri, Rourkela, Darjeeling and Gangtok, will now look to expand in the East, North East and beyond. The company will also consider an IPO to further fund property expansion plans.
Talking to Hospitality Biz, Dilip Ray, Chairman, MayFair Hotels & Resorts Ltd disclosed, “Our main focus areas are the East and North East, as there is a lot of untapped potential in these states. We also foresee traffic pouring into the states once the Silk route has been opened up. Taking into consideration these factors, we plan to strengthen our presence with additional properties across the region; simultaneously, we aim to tap into circuits.” MayFair will also look to set up properties in Siliguri, Kalimpong and Chilka. Currently, the group is working on the region’s second convention centre with a capacity of 1,200 people. It should be operational by January 2009. |
