| | Delhi-based low fare carrier, MDLR Airlines, will appoint General Sales Agents (GSAs) in regional markets like Kullu, Srinagar, Leh, Shimla and Goa by mid-2009. Despite the global economic crunch the carrier, is targeting at adding seven more Avro Regional Jets (BAe 146 aircraft) to its fleet this year. The airline has already leased three Avro Regional Jets (BAe 146 aircraft). Disclosing information about the carrier’s expansion plans, Koustav M Dhar, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, MDLR Airlines informed that the airline is currently connected to eight stations in the domestic market via 21 flights and is planning to achieve a target of 18 stations via 64 flights by year-end.
“We are planning to make a new hub (Delhi is the main hub) in the North East by April 2009. We see a lot of potential in the region because of the smaller airports. On the online front, MDLR Airlines will go live from the 15th of this month and consumers will be able to book their tickets online. Post March 2009, MDLR Airlines will start operations to new cities like Jamshedpur, Baroda, Jammu, Srinagar, Shimla, Leh and Varanasi,” added Dhar. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
