MGTO in process of promoting itself as leisure destination to Indian market

Keen to increase average length of stay of Indian tourist

After primarily focussing on the MICE segment, Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) is now in the process of promoting itself as a leisure destination to the Indian market. The tourist office is keen to attract families, FITs and wedding groups from the Indian market. For the same, MGTO organised its first Mini Mart (road show) in Mumbai yesterday and will also conduct the same in Delhi tomorrow, with an aim to create a platform for the Indian travel trade and Macau tourism and hospitality stakeholders to interact with each other. The participants from Macau include: The Westin Resort, Macau; Grand Hyatt, Macau; Macau Tower; Shun Tak- China Travel Ship Management Limited; Macau International Airport Co. Ltd; China International Travel Services and Macau.com.

While Macau has been promoted as a multi-faceted destination in the Indian market, with joint packages for Hong Kong and Macau, MGTO plans to aggressively promote the destination to increase the length of stay of the Indian tourist.
