| | In a bid to give further impetus to the domestic tourism industry of India, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) is considering a White Paper for the same. A White Paper is a report or a guide that addresses problems and solutions those pertaining to the industry or a country as a whole. The White Paper on domestic tourism will identify issues related to the domestic tourism industry of India and provide adequate solutions to capitalise on its fullest potential. MoT is currently working on the elements of the White Paper and is looking at introducing the same in June this year.
According to official sources in MoT, “ MoT is considering the White Paper for domestic tourism with an objective to put in place strategies and best practices to boost the domestic tourism market of India. Currently, all verticals of the travel and tourism industry are suffering badly, for instance, hotel occupancy is down to 40 per cent, airlines are recording immense losses and the overall tourist influx from international and domestic markets is relatively low as compared to the previous years.” | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
