Mumbai-based Mirah Group through its hospitality arm, Citrus Hotels, plans to operate 1,000 keys in the next one year across India. The Group’s first property will be launched in Pune by year end and will have 150 rooms. The property is owned by a local builder in Pune and will be managed by Mirah Group. The Group is yet to unveil the brand name for the upcoming hotels. Mirah Group will work on five major modes of operations, including Joint Venture (with developer), lease contract (for specific period), acquisition (acquire the existing hotel), management contract (take up management contract) and Greenfield projects (owned and managed).
According to Ram Wasan, CEO – Hospitality Business, Mirah Group, “The challenge is to create a new brand. Our core business lies with people and process. If the processes are in place and plans are implemented, then accordingly it delivers desired results and efficiency.” Talking about the expansion plans, Wasan said, “The Group has plans to operate a collection of hotels in business and leisure segments. We are targeting Tier II and gateway cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. |
