MoCA releases data of domestic passengers carried by Indian scheduled airlines in February 2009

According to a PIB release issued by Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), the total number of domestic passengers carried by scheduled airlines of India in the month of February 2009 was 33.36 lakh. The total number of passengers carried by domestic airlines in the month of January, 2009 was 33.26 lakh. The break-up for the month of February, 2009 is as follows: Air India (Domestic) – 5.74 lakh; Jet Airways –5.97 lakh; Jet Lite – 2.49 lakh; Kingfisher Airlines– 9.04 lakh; SpiceJet – 4.13 lakh; Paramount Airways – 0.61 lakh; GoAir – 0.84 lakh; IndiGo – 4.41 lakh.

The percentage share of the carriers in February 2009 was: Air India (Domestic) 17.2 per cent, Jet Airways – 17.9 per cent, Jet Lite – 7.5 per cent, Kingfisher Airlines– 27.1 per cent, Spice Jet – 12.4 per cent, Paramount Airways– 1.8 per cent, GoAir – 2.5 per cent and IndiGo – 13.2 per cent. The seat factors of the domestic airlines in the month of February, 2009 was: Air India (Domestic) – 66.3 per cent, Jet Airways – 68.7 per cent, JetLite – 74.2 per cent, Kingfisher Airlines – 74.3 per cent, SpiceJet – 78.5 per cent, Paramount Airways – 81.6 per cent, GoAir – 66 per cent and IndiGo – 82 per cent.
