| | The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has come up with a comprehensive long-term strategy to arrest the negative impact of unsatisfactory hygiene and cleanliness at important tourist destinations. “Campaign Clean India” will aim at creating a collective mindset that abhors unclean conditions through a series of initiatives such as workshops, seminars, training and awareness programmes and policies. The MoT will be giving the Campaign a full-fledged institutional back up and has ear-marked provision for funds in Twelfth Five Year Plan. MoT will also set up a Steering Group chaired by the Secretary Tourism to take the Campaign forward.
In order to take the plan ahead with the full support of the stakeholders of the tourism industry, MoT is organising a workshop in New Delhi on December 20, 2011 and will have Subodh Kant Sahai, Union Tourism Minister presiding over the inaugural session. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India will be the Chief Guest of the session which will be attended by individuals and institutional representatives as participants, special invitees, senior government officers and media persons. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
