MP government to focus on promoting Wildlife Tourism at ITB Berlin next month

To organise Khajuraho Festival of Dances 2009 on February 25, 2009

The Department of Tourism, Government of Madhya Pradesh will focus more on promoting wildlife destinations in the state at ITB Berlin which will be held from March 11-15, 2009. In order to promote Wildlife Tourism in the state, Madhya Pradesh will promote the Kanha National Park, Badhavagarh National Park and Pench National Park at ITB Berlin. Madhya Pradesh will participate in ITB Berlin, which is prestigious and largest tourism exchange programme in the world, along with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India (GoI).

Furthermore, the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh, will organise the Khajuraho Festival of Dances from the 25th of this month till March 3, 2009 at Khajuraho. It is a seven-day long dance festival which showcases different kinds of Indian classical dances featuring illustrious artists of India. The main dances are: Odissi, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Manipuri, Mohiniattm, Kuchipudi and several group dances which are a fusion of different classical dances in India. The dance festival has even found a prestigious place in the international festival calendar.
