Madhya Pradesh Ecotourism Development Board (MPEDB) is planning to build infrastructure capacity outside Kanha National Park, informed Gopa Pandey, Chief Executive Officer, MPEDB. According to plans, MPEDB plans to build Ecotourism structures which will provide for accommodation and boating in the rivers outside the Park. It also proposes to convert the forest guest house near the Park into commercial accommodation for tourists. The Board has discussed the above plans with the R P Singh, Field Director, Kanha National Park.
Speaking exclusively with TravelBiz Monitor, Pandey informed that MPEDB recently conducted a trekking trip to Bindori district in Madhya Pradesh to find various nature trails in the area. The trip extended to Amarkantak, which is a scenic hill station and the place where River Narmada originates. At Amarkantak, MPEDB plans to facilitate paddle boats at Kapil Dhwara, a small stream located in Amarkantak.
According to Commander Nigham, Ecotourism Advisor, MPEDB, the Board has marked the new trekking route at Bindori and Amarkantak for providing greater options to tourists visiting Madhya Pradesh. |
