Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) is in the process of announcing Bed & Breakfast (B&B) scheme especially in tourist interest places, in order to provide more accommodation facilities within the state. Primarily, MPSTDC will focus on targeting cities such as Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Indore to promote the scheme. When contacted, Hari Ranjan Rao, Managing Director, MPSTDC said, “The state government has already approved the B&B scheme proposal sent by MPSTDC. We are now in the process of launching the scheme with standard guidelines as early as possible. Initially, we will provide one-level certification for stakeholders who show interest in the scheme. In future, the Corporation may think about different levels of certification.”
Talking about the other developments, Rao mentioned that the state is soon going to get an international Buddhist university at Sanchi. “The state government has already offered the land for this project. Besides, we have developed land banks in Madhai, Pench and Ujjain for various public private partnership tourism projects. |
