| | Mumbai Port Trust’s (MPT) plan to develop a dedicated cruise terminal at Apollo Bunder off Radio Club in Mumbai has been stalled with the Indian Navy raising objection due to security reasons. This objection has created a roadblock even though MPT has attained other permission for development of the project, as well as project details been decided upon and consultants already submitting their feasibility study.

This was the first initiative by the trust to develop a cruise terminal of international standards in Mumbai. According to the current plans, the cruise terminal will also include an off-shore marina and a 300 room hotel, besides other facilities like duty free shopping, communication centre, foreign exchange centre, immigration facilities and port health organisation.
