National Tourist Office of Spain which set up its office in Mumbai last year is looking at tapping the leisure and MICE market from India this year. The tourism board is promoting destinations like Madrid, Barcelona and Andalucía region covering Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga along with the Valencia region in the Indian market. It is looking at working very closely with the Indian travel trade in major cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai. The tourism board will also conduct presentations for corporate companies to attract MICE business into Spain.
Speaking to TravelBiz Monitor, Miguel Nieto-Sandoval, Tourism Counsellor, Director of Tourism Department and Embassy of Spain in India said, “We are still in the process of setting up the team for full fledged operations. In the next two months we are looking at becoming a bit more aggressive with our promotions in the Indian market. Typically, Spain has diverse offerings in terms of culture, history, modern cities, beaches and mountains etc for Indian travellers to explore. |
