According to a PTI report, Nepal will host the third International Himalayan Travel Mart and 43rd Congress of United Federation of Travel Agents’ Association (UFTAA) from November 20-24, 2009. The main objective behind this is to promote Nepal as a prime tourist destination and showcase its tourism products to the international market. More than 125 tour operators from 45 countries including India, Bangladesh, China, Singapore, Spain, Malaysia, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Canada will participate in the UFTAA Congress cum tourism fair.
As per officials of the Nepal Tourism Board, the main organiser of the event, Vijay Thakur, President, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Rajinder Rai, President, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) have confirmed their participation in the Travel Mart. Nepalese culture, handicrafts, museums, folk music and ethnic dresses, food stalls will be showcased during the occasion. |
