The Tanzanian Tourist Board (TTB) has recognised the potential of the untapped Indian market as tourism activity has slowed down from the European market. TTB is considering ways to attract travellers from the Asian subcontinent.

The tourism department is also in the process of conducting research to address the specific needs of Indian travellers which are quite unique and unlike the European tourists. TTB's campaign is largely driven by the dire need to spread awareness about Tanzania and its offerings which are understated and overlooked in comparison to its African counterparts.
