Tourism Statistics at one Glance
Foreign Tourist Arrivals during 2009 were 5.11 million with a growth rate of (-) 3.3 per cent as compared to the FTAs of 5.28 million and growth rate of four per cent during 2008. Similarly Foreign Exchange Earnings in Rupee terms during 2009 were Rs 54960 crore as compared to Rs 50730 crore in 2008. Last year up to September, Ministry of Tourism also provided financial assistance for 35 tourism projects and identified 29 destinations/circuits.
