Northern Ireland to focus on tapping family and MICE segment from India

With an aim to increase tourist arrivals and business investment opportunities from India to Northern Ireland, Ireland Tourism along with VisitBritain organised the ‘Britain & Ireland India Mission' (BIIM) workshop in Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi recently. Arlene Foster MLA, Tourism Minister, Northern Ireland visited India for the same and was accompanied by Michael McCormick, Regional Manager – Middle East and Asia, Tourism Ireland. Northern Ireland is mainly focusing on attracting family and MICE segment from India through multiple marketing and promotional activities. In order to achieve the goal of increasing Indian tourist arrivals to the region, Northern Ireland is going to focus on the Indian traffic travelling to UK which consists mainly of family, VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives) and business travellers.

Northern Ireland is focusing on major metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru to attract Indian travellers. It is highlighting various aspects of the region including City Walls of Londonderry, Giant's Causeway in Antrim, Titanic Signature Project in Belfast, Black Mountain Grove in Belfast, etc.
